Hi! I’m Szelmis Black, I’m an Ayurvedic practitioner, Mum to three beautiful children, Wife and Earth Mumma.
I stumbled upon Ayurveda after giving birth to my second child. Although being a Mum was everything I could have ever dreamt of I was lost, stuck, depressed
I took the plunge blindly into my Advanced Diploma of Ayurveda, unbeknownst to me that this healing modality would change the trajectory of my whole life. I felt like I had come home!
The struggle of studying, juggling children
how ARYUVEDA CHANGED ME…
Ayurveda is simply practical yet so deep, I still feel like I have only dipped my big toe into the vastness of this incredible ancient medical system.
For me Ayurveda is mother earth. Being guided by the flows of nature, circadian rythms, going with the flow, constantly changeable, being fluid and adaptable to your surroundings, understanding the body and recognising what imbalance (symptomaology) looks like to the individual. Most importantly creating the right environment for the body to be able to do what it does best heal.
Ayurveda is tending to your garden, preparing the soil, pulling out the weeds and decay so that your crop will flourish and reward you with abundance.
My passion is about empowering others with this incredible knowledge of self healing, to teach you how to boost your immunity, how to nourish, rejuvenate and detoxify the body whilst incorporating this ancient healing art into our modern day society
Herbal Remedies are my jam!
I love making potions, tonics, Ayurvedic preparations, home remedies, herbal teas, and incorporating these beautiful healing spices into our daily meals. I am grateful to have had this knowlege whilst raising young children, adding immune boosting herbs to their food, making healing brews and herbal teas when they are a little under the weather and teaching them the importance of wholesome nutritious food.
Don’t get me wrong – I’m still flexible and allow them to have their treats. There’s a balance that this brings and and allows them to see both sides of the coin.
That is what I love about Ayurveda, it is the art of balance, moderation, yin and yang. It is about being flexible, creating healthy habbits that are non restrictive and easy to follow.
